Crichton revealed the reasons for reaching a one-year contract, and the Rugby World Cup has nothing to do with it

Sydney Rooster star back-rower Angus Crichton rejected his proposal to sign a one-year deal to switch to rugby before France hosts the 2023 World Cup.

The Sydney Morning Herald reported that Crichton decided to go for a short-term deal to ease the pressure on the rooster's salary ceiling rather than forcing himself on the code.

Angus Crichton told, "Rugby has nobody to do with this one-year deal. I not ever supposed about that World Cup."

“My best teammate Jack Maddocks plays for Waratahs. I'm still a big fan of rugby, but now I'm in love with my time with the Roosters. I love the rugby league and I want there to be a lot of things to do in the Roosters and in the NRL.

"Because I've been looking forward to it for a long time. This time it is our place (for negotiations), but I am very happy to sign here.

‘What I can bring change to the team, I know. The rooster is what I want. He knows. '

Crichton has a history of coding 15 people and has represented Scots college and Australian boys in the Rugby Union.

Since debuting in 2016, the 25-year-old has won 19 tries in 101 games for the Rabbitohs and Roosters in six seasons.

He also represented New South Wales (NSW Blues) in seven origins competitions from 2018 to 2020. After the international program was canceled due to the coronavirus pandemic, he was hired as a member of the Kangaroos Reputation last season.

Crichton will no doubt set his sights on the rugby league national team's first match to recover in international competition, and after the Queensland team's disgruntled victory last year, he won first place from the Roosters and regained its original shield.
