RUGBY WORLD CUP 2023 PLAYERS' COMMITTEE LAUNCHES WITH CHAIRMAN JOHN EALES

France 2023 CEO Claude Atcher started the Rugby World Cup France 2023 Players Committee, chaired by Australian rugby legend John Eales.

Eales won the Rugby World Cup in 1991 and 1999 and chaired France's 2023 Rugby World Cup Players Committee.

Seven members of the players' committee

Eales will participate in the game with six well-known figures from the French and international rugby circles. Former French international players Philippe Sella and Yannick Jauzion will sit on this players' committee, along with Welsh rugby legend Gareth Thomas and former Australian captain David Pocock, known for his steadfast stance on environmental issues.

As the 2023 Rugby World Cup in France aims to highlight the role of women in rugby, the player's committee will also include France's Jessy Trémoulière (who was named the 15th World Rugby World 15 in December last year), and England rugby star Iesinga Vunipola (Iesinga Vunipola) Mako and Billy.

Players are at the heart of RWC 2023

The players' committee meets several times a year to achieve a number of goals:

• Bringing together professional rugby and amateur rugby

• In particular through projects related to sustainable development, participants outside the rugby circle will participate in France's 2023 CSR plan and tackle all types of discrimination.
