The boss announced a brand new event "Sounds on the Ground", a two-night headline show to be held on Saturday, August 28, performed by the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, UK talent award winner Collabro.
Sunday 29 will relive Madchester's classic country house eras
from the 80s and 90s, including famous musical works such as Robin Maynard
(Robin S), Crystal Waters, Black Box, and Inner City, as well as the
world-famous DJ Graeme Park and Mike Pickering.
The ambitious
musical party, used for the first time by the club, exceeded the organizers'
expectations and the response to this event were overwhelming.
Blackpool Cricket Club Chairman Dave Cresswell (Dave Cresswell) said
"Sound on the Ground" has been in production for over two years and
hopes to create an "iconic and high quality" concert for Blackpool.
The two-day music festival opens together with the Royal Philharmonic
Concert Orchestra, with a concert in "Last Night of the Prom" style,
including "songs and unforgettable music in films".
He said: “The spectacle of the world-renowned Royal
Philharmonic Orchestra, as well as the 80s and 90s music of the iconic Hacienda
classical music played at the Blackpool Cricket Ground, I believe people will
not miss it.
"Early demand for tickets has exceeded the club's expectations and it is likely that they will be sold out within two days."
Like the club's annual bonfire show at the highest level, the
profits from the 'ground sound' will be invested in the club to support its
continued development.
Dave added: “Over the past two years the club has worked hard
to bring such a high quality and entertaining two-day concert to Blackpool and
Fylde Coast.
Municipalities, licensing authorities, police and fire
brigade, and many organizations have strongly supported our plan.
"This is good news for the local economy. Many foreign
tourists are expected to go on holiday at the weekend. Naturally, the locals
also get the chance to see and benefit from first-class artists on their
doorstep."
“In recent years, local cricket and sports have been very
difficult, especially in the last 12 months the lockdown has been restricted.
"The planning of the club's facilities and increasing
the use of cricket and other sports activities in the area are very important
to the future development of the club to plan and generate financially
growth."
He said the money raised will be used exclusively for future
ground infrastructure and sports development, benefiting the club's members,
communities, schools, and youth.
