The NFL will announce the league schedule for 2021 on May 12

As of Wednesday afternoon, we're officially still a long way from the full NFL 2021 schedule. The league is expected to reveal the details of the upcoming season sometime after the draft, and we now know when exactly.

This announcement isn't quite as exciting as the actual schedule, of course, but this is another date to look forward to during the low season. This year will be unique as it will see the first announcement of the 18-week schedule and each team will prepare to play against 17 opponents in the regular season for the first time. The Seahawks and the rest of the NFC will play another road game in 2021, and of course, the AFC will play next year. However, we know that the Seahawks will not be able to play "local" games abroad until 2022 at the earliest when the NFL's new international game schedule goes into effect. Per John Breech of CBS Sports said the league will adhere to the volunteer system in 2021, so it's very likely the Hawks won't be traveling outside of the United States this year.
