All Blacks hooker Hikawera'Hika' Elliot extends their stay in France until 2023
Past All Blacks hooker Hikawera'Hika' Elliot chose to extend her stay in France and signed a new agreement with French club Colomiers in ProD2.
Elliot expended two years in Nevers before signing with the club Haut-Garonnais last year. The striker adapted very quickly to the environmental requirements of his new club, making six tries so far, including a hat-trick against Soyaux-Angoulême.
The club wrote on their website: "Presently the top
scorer of the professional team, our hooker will therefore extend his contract
until 2023".
Elliot was the
Waikato chief and won 7 caps for the All Blacks, but after facing the British
and Irish Lions on their visit to New Zealand, he left New Zealand in 2017 to
join Oyonnax.
Elliott is the star
of New Zealand's age rating. He represented the U16 game in 2000, was then
principal of a New Zealand high school in 2003, and then the representative of
the U19 game in New Zealand in 2004. He was the head of New Zealand
Division XV in 2005 and then headed New Zealand U21 in 2006.
According to his hurricane biography, after arriving at the end of the off-season last season, Elliot gained 17 kilograms in kickboxing and kung fu sports and lost 17 kilos and his family in early 2007.
He won the honor of
the New Zealand Maori selection in 2008 and later took part in their year-end
tour for the All Blacks in Scotland to replace the injured Andrew Hore.
Elliott played for
the Chiefs in 2009 and returned to Hamilton in 2010, his second full season. He
was re-elected to the All Blacks on the 2010 end of the year tour and became
the starting hooker in the 49-3 win over Scotland.
