Premier League first-class history, after Preston (1888-89), the Gunners
(2001-02) and the Gunners again (2003-04), to remain undefeated away from home
across a whole season
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's side finished
the achievement on the final day of the PL season as Manchester
United beaten Wolves 2-1 at Molineux, the first time the Norwegian has gained
there as a boss.
Solskjaer's side did somewhat run
the risk of exposing their probabilities by making ten variations for the game
as Ole Gunnar Solskjaer looked to rest important players ahead of the EL Final
against Villarreal in weekdays.
Though speaking after the game the Solskjaer
admired those who played their portion after making a real part of footballing
history.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer expressed MUTV
"It was about time we did! We
haven't done it before, so what an achievement by all the players, they have
been excellent," Ole Gunnar Solskjaer expressed MUTV.
"I knew that we did put this
record on the line by making all the variations, but we had to. One because we
believed in these players, and two because the other players have played so
much this Premier League season and needed an energy enhancement for
Wednesday."
Elanga unlocked the scoring with
his 1st goal for the football club whereas Mata got the final winner from the
penalty spot.
Will Fish and Hannibal Mejbri also
came on for their senior Man Utd debuts and after the game as the Red Devils
boss once again showed his confidence in the football club's memorable youth
academy.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer added:
"We played this in the spirit of Manchester United and Sir Alex (Ferguson)
and Sir Matt (Busby), definitely You have to take jeopardies, but we believed
in them."
Juan Mata expressed Man Utd future after victory against Wolves
Mata has acknowledged he doesn't
know whether he will stay at Man Utd beyond this Premier League season.
The Juan Mata agreement at Manchester
United expires at the end of the season and his future at Old Trafford is yet
to be decided.
Making many variations, Solskjaer
started Juan Mata against Wolves for Man Utd's last match of the season on
Sunday afternoon, and the veteran playmaker converted from the position before
the break, scoring United’s match winner.
All Manchester United's players except Dean Henderson celebrated with Juan Mata
in demonstrative sights that suggested the match could have been his last at
the football club, but he addressed where his future may lie after the match in
a post-match conference.
"I don't know, I don't really
know. In three days we have an important game and that's where my mind is, but
I still think I can play good football and give a lot to the team and enjoy for
many years playing football like today, that's my mentality," Juan Mata expressed
BT Sport.
"It is not the moment to speak
about it. I know what I want and I'm happy with how I feel physically and
mentally.”
Manchester United supporters to Anthony Elanga after 1st goal
Man Utd supporters have sent
messages of congratulations to Anthony Elanga as he achieved his 1st goal for
the football club.
Elanga was offered his 2nd Premier
League start by Solskjaer against Wolves ahead of the EL final.
United’s boss relaxed all of his important
players that are likely to be involved on Wednesday night in Gdansk, handing chances
to his peripheral players to gain some valuable minutes.
Anthony Elanga started up front and
was pleased to head home his 1st senior goal for the football club.
James burst down the left-wing and
produced a eccentric delivery for the youngster to head home before he was surrounded
by his colleagues.
Anthony Elanga's pleasure was imprinted
over his face and Man Utd supporters were equally pleased for their latest
academy graduate.
"I thought the game against
Leicester City showed us signs as well," Ole told MUTV on Anthony Elanga
selection.
"Some of these players need
minutes. Of course Sunday, Wednesday don't want to take any risks. I thought La
Liga did really well to move all the games just for Villarreal. That is
something we (English football) need to think about. Why don't we do that for
our own?"
Manchester United boss added:
"First time away from home, supporters (here), they have to deal with that
as well. I thought both did really well against Leicester, showed some signs,
energy, courage, confidence to take the ball, so will be good to see them
again."
Harry Maguire makes Man Utd vow
The Red Devils ran out 2-1 champions
at Molineux thanks to goals from Juan Mata and Anthony Elanga.
Manchester United skipper Harry

The Red Devils are still confident
their skipper will be fit for the game against Villarreal, though Man Utd boss
conceded his opportunities are getting slimmer.
"He's walking but it's a long
way from walking to running, to be honest," Ole Gunnar Solskjaer said
before the Wolves game.
"I don't think we'll see him
Gdansk, no. But I'm going to give him until Tuesday night, last training
session, to see if he can be out there. Steadily but surely he's improving. But
ligaments take time to heal.”
Can Manchester United win the next Premier League season?
"He's a very important person
in the dressing room and a leader. Before fans came in you all heard him from
the stands, he does still want the team to do well, he's organizing even from
the stands, which has been easy because it's been so quiet.”
