BBC boss Tim Davie (Tim Davie) has previously said that safeguarding the right to broadcast the Six Nations game is of the utmost importance to him.

"In my opinion this is vital. Our budget is limited, but it is imperative that we protect these things because that's where viewers get value from the BBC.

"So, this is a top priority, we can establish those big events."

After news that the agreement was closed in March, Ben Morel, CEO of Six Nations, told the BBC: “This is a hugely positive development. When we embarked on this journey, we wanted to make sure we got the right strategic partners who can add real value and are committed to establishing long-term collaborative relationships.

"CVC recognizes the exciting potential of the Fall International Series and Six Nations Championship, and they align with our idea for the future."
